Loggers enter forest monastery

A sandalwood tree at Lollahela forest monastery at Galgediyawa in the
Moneragala district was felled on Sunday night, Chief Incumbent
Ven.Galgediyawarakitha Thera said. The Thera had been to the area after
hearing a noise of something cut.

The release of a biography of Ex-senator S.Z.M. Mashoor Moulana, a
veteran politician of the East, will highlight his 81st birthday
celebrations which falls today.
The ceremony will be held at 'Thassim Villa', at 4.30 p.m at No. 81,
Kent Road, Dematagoda, Colombo. Authored by A.H.M. Azwer, MP, Member,
Parliament Council. Its releasing ceremony has been organized by S.B.C.
Thassim.
Sports meet
Inter-House Sports Meet of Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya will be held
today at Bogambara grounds, Kandy.
The closing ceremony will be held under the patronage of
