Postal service still the most authentic - Jeewan

The postal service still maintains the highest credibility when it comes to mail distribution and authenticity despite the increasing number of private concerns that provide the same service, Postal Services Minister Jeewan Kumaratunga said. The minister made this observation participating at the opening of the new post office at the Mount Lavinia court complex. He said the registered letter still carries legal validity.

The minister said the postal service has always been working closely with courts, handling legal documents since the early days.

Kumaratunga said a post office at the Mount Lavinia court complex was long over due and a much needed one. He said a large number of people obtain this service regularly in the court premises.

The minister said the newly established post office has all the modern facilities.
