Rumal, Chaushalya most outstanding players
Rumal Intikhab of Royal College and Chaushalya de
Silva of Dialog Sports Club were adjudged most outstanding players
(men and women) respectively at the all island men's and women's
Novices and Intermediate Table Tennis Championship organized by the
Nugegoda Table Tennis Association and worked off at the Indoor
Stadium of St. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia recently.

The Singer Schools 'A' division league rugby
tournament will kick off on April 20 (Friday) when the 2010 league
champions St Peter's College play hosts to traditional rivals St
Joseph's College, Colombo at Bambalapitiya. The Peterites led by Sri
Lanka Youth player Danushka Ranjan will also have the services of
experienced campaigners fly half Dulaj Perera, prop Chaturanga
Mendis, lock forward Asitha Krishan, wingers Anuradha Herath and
Bhanuka Peiris, but will face a strong challenge from the determined
Josephians who are led by No. 8 Yohan Keyzer.

Singer rewards champion school rugby teams
The Singer League 2011 Rugby Award Ceremony was
held recently at Hotel Galadari. Royal who remained unbeaten by
winning all the eleven league matches played last year was awarded
the coveted Singer Championship title by the Chief Guest Asoka
Peiris, Chief Executive Officer Singer Group of Companies in Sri
Lanka. The Runners-up in Division one were Isipathana College who
also received the Runners-up trophy from the chief guest.

Magoffin claims seven-wicket haul
Australian seamer Steve Magoffin took seven
wickets as Sussex crushed county champions Lancashire by 10 wickets
at Liverpool on Saturday. Magoffin dismissed Ashwell Prince for 58,
Glen Chapple, Kyle Hogg and Simon Kerrigan after having collected
three wickets on Friday's second day as the hosts were bowled out
for 176 in their second innings.
