Jewellery robbed

Incidents of robbery and plunder have been reported in the suburbs of Jaffna town.

At Koddady on April 4 two robbers had wrenched off the iron grills on the window and gained access to the house.

They had robbed 40 gold sovereign worth jewellery at the point of knife and sword. An old man in the house was attacked with a club.

On the same night, they had robbed a shop at Ariyalai and vanished with several lakhs worth items.
