Lankan youths for SWY programme

Sri Lankan youths will participate in the Ship for World Youth (SWY)
programme after 16 years, said Youth Affairs and Skills Development
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
SWY programme is organized annually by the Japanese government with
the objectives of fostering the spirit and practice of international
cooperation, promoting friendship and mutual understanding between the
youths of Japan and the youths of other parts of the world, broadening
the awareness of participants and developing youths capable of playing
leading roles and in turn contributing to the development of youths in
respective countries.
Eleven youths will leave Sri Lanka for Japan on January 17, to
participate in 24th SWY programme. Sri Lanka participated in the
programme in 1995 for the last time. |
