Man injured by trap gun

A person who had run to a nearby jungle to save himself from an elephant, had been injured after trampling a trap gun which had been set for wild animals. The victim who sustained serious injuries had been admitted to the Dambulla Base hospital.

The incident had occurred at Gedigaswalana, in the Sigiriya area. The victim had been identified as H.M. Kumarasingha (45), a resident of the same village.

According to police investigations, the victim had been chased by an elephant when he was on his way home. When he had run to the nearby jungle, he had accidentally placed his foot on the trap guns.
