Siri Ediriweera’s latest Sinhala novel Sihina Mavanno was launched at
Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Colombo 10 on May 3 at 10 am.
Ediriweera is the author of several other books such as Veven
Upanniya, Kasavatha, Lovin Ekek, Bhavayen Bhavayata and Oedipus.
Sihina Mavanno is a Dayawansa Jayakody publication.

Edward and
Charitha at the event |
The Edward Jayakody and Charitha Priyadharshani Peiris’ Bakthi Gee
concert which was held at Gangarama temple will be telecast on
Rupavahini on May 4 at 10.05 pm. Pandit Amaradeva had also lent his
voice for the event. Many children took part in the event.
Edward and Charitha’s daughter, Saranya, also recited a Bakthi Gee. J
R P Sooriyaperuma, Dr Praneeth Abeysundara, Senior Lecturers Dhamma
Dissanayake, Attanayake M Herath, P N Meegastatta and lyricist Bandula
Nanayakkarawasam made speeches.
Rangana Premarathne produced the event on behalf of Rupavahini. Meth
Mal Vila Bakthi Gee CD which was launched that day is a Torana product.
Friday discourse
A discourse on the subject of the Buddha’s Kavi sutta and Professor
Senerat Paranavithana’s commentary on Sigiri Graffiti will be discussed
at Sri Lanka Press Council Auditorium, Horton Place (close to Lanka
Sumithrayo and Mel Medura), on April 6 at 4 pm. A presentation from the
original will be made by Professor Sunanda Mahendra.
Daya Dissanayake, Dr Praneeth Abhayasundara, Karunaratne Amarasinghe
and Buddhadasa Galappatty will also participate. |
