Cricket coaching clinic in Nuwara Eliya

Many highly talented cricketers were spotted at the C ricke5 Coaching Clinic for Nuwara Eliya District organizers by the Sri Lanka Cricket and conducted at the Dickoya. Maskeliya Cricket Club grounds at Darawella yesterday.

This coaching clinic was conducted by the Manager Coaching of Sri Lanka Cricket Malcolm Perera and assisted by Central Province coach Sunil Fernando and Nuwara Eliya District Coach K. Karthigazon.

Malcolm Perera said that around 30 school cricketers under the age group of 19 years attended this clinic. There were three schoolboy cricketers mainly fast bowlers who displayed exceptional skills and could walk into any Kandy School side.

One of them had been already spotted by a leading school in Kandy and may turn out for them this season.

He said that the other two are from poor homes and they must be looked after if they are to play for a Kandy School.

First they must gain admission to a school which is not an easy task at present and school authorities should cooperate in the best interest of cricket. It is the school which will benefit by their performances.
