First Lady in Malaysia
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa who is on an official visit to
Malaysia to participate in the First Ladies Forum yesterday met
Malaysian Prime Minister’s wife Datin Paukasevi Rosmah Mansor.

The meeting took place on the eve of First Ladies Forum where wives
of State leaders in 22 countries will meet to discuss various issues of
national and international importance.
The First Lady discussed with her Malaysian counterpart on how
bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and Malaysia could be further enhanced.
They focused on the promotion of women and children’s welfare
activities.
Wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Datin Padukasevi Rosmah Mansor said
that the world can learn a lesson from Sri Lanka which is heading for
development after eradicating terrorism under the able leadership of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
She appreciated the relentless efforts being taken by First Lady
Rajapaksa for the uplift of women and children. First Lady Rajapaksa’s
programs towards these objectives were held in high esteem.
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa participated at a banquet hosted by
her Malaysian counterpart.
They exchanged mementos. The First Ladies Forum started yesterday
evening at Seri Perasana in Kuala Lumpur. |
