Rs One m robbery

Over Rs one million, the weekend collection of an apparel complex in Anuradhapura, was robbed by two men yesterday around 10.30 am. The money was stolen by the men on a motorbicycle, when two employees were taking the money to deposit it.

They had stopped to turn into the main road when two persons pointed a revolver at them and grabbed the bag.

The two robbers speeded when another employee had pelted stones at the robbers. The robbers had opened fire at the employee who escaped without any injuries. The robbers escaped with the money. Anuradhapura Police are investigating.
