Homeopathy to treat dengue

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will provide homeopathy treatment to prevent dengue in areas prone to dengue mosquito breeding in Colombo city and its suburbs.

CMC Special Commissioner Omar Kamil said a number of dengue mosquito breeding prevention camps were carried out by the Health Ministry and the Local Government and Provincial Council Ministry in many parts of the country at the moment.

However, these campaigns should have been carried out in June and July.

"During August the numbers of dengue mosquito will start to decrease as the monsoonal rains cease, he said.

Kamil told the Daily News that the CMC identified areas high risk for dengue mosquito breeding will provide homeopathy treatment with the assistance of Homeopathy doctors in order to prevent the disease.

A homeopathy treatment camp will be conducted in Sri Dharma Mawatha and Madampitiya this week.

"These areas are prone for dengue mosquito breeding since they are situated on the low line and there are many canal banks. Besides, many dengue confirmed cases were reported from these areas," he added.
