Antonians in morale-boosting win over Rajans

St. Anthony's College, Kandy warmed up for this week's Big Match against Trinity College when they scored a morale boosting nine wicket win over Dharmaraja College in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match concluded at Katugastota yesterday.

Match winner for the Antonians was left arm spinner Milinda Ranasinghe who captured a match bag of 10 for 56. In the first innings he took 7 for 26 and followed with 3 for 30 in the second. Prior to this he had captured only 6 wickets as he was used very sparingly. For the Antonians Skipper Dulash Kumarasinghe struck form scoring 61 and 19 not out.

This was Antonians' victory over Rajans after a long lapse.

Dharmaraja College: 105 all out and 118 all out in 48.5 overs (Nuwan Karunaratne 18, Sanjay Kalubowila 38, Rahula Ekanayake 33, Sandun Weerakkody 11, Milinda Ranasinghe 3 for 30, Aravinda Premaratne 3 for 51, Karunaratne 3 for 13).

St. Anthony's College: 180 all out and 44 for 1 in nine overs (Dulash Kumarasinghe 18 n.o, Manoj Sarathchandra 21 n.o).
