Pipena Kekulu children society exhibited paintings of their members
from Kotikawatta, Himbutana, Mullariyawa, Homagama, Kolonnawa,
Dematagoda, Navagothatuwa, Koswatta, Kottawa, Kohilawatta, Valiwita,
Galle, Thalgaswala and Athurugiriya recently.
The society is lead by its director Ven. Marakgoda Amitha and is
aimed at spotting and brushing up hidden talents in children. In a
society where corruption and violence had taken a prominent place,
Pipena Kekulu strives to train children the importance of living in
harmony and appreciating each other's innate gifts.
Ministers Thilanga Sumathipala and Duminda Silva took part in the
event and handed out certificates to the children who had taken part in
the exhibition with striking creations.
They have launched many projects in the past and the exhibition and
competition takes a prominent place in their events calendar.
"Our aim is to present creative and virtuous set of children to the
society," Ven. Amitha said.
