The people of Sri Lanka have been passing a era
of victories during the past few months. Today the people of
Kalutara specially the sportsmen and women are enjoying the grand
opening of a fully fledged Sports complex in Kalutara, said
President Mahinda Rajapaksa who was the chief guest at the opening
of the Vernon U. Fernando stadium yesterday. This was his first
public appearance since the victory at the Southern Province Council
Elections.

Bolivia beat Brazil 2-1 to end 19-match unbeaten run
Bolivia ended Brazil's run of 11 consecutive
wins and 19 matches without defeat when they beat Dunga's team 2-1
in a World Cup qualifier.There were no finals berths at stake since
Brazil, who have qualified for South Africa 2010, remained top of
the South American group on goal difference from Paraguay. Bolivia
were already eliminated.

Defence Secretary to open redeveloped City Football ground today
The City Football League ground redeveloped with
the funds obtained from the tsunami Solidarity and the Basel
pavilion a donation from Ms.Gigi Oeri, the Chairperson of FC Basel
and President of the SCORT Foundation, Switzerland will be opened by
the Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today at 3.30 p.m.
