Four-year-old Malalage Dikpathi Pankaja Peiris, son of a woman police constable attached to Crime Report-Division, Torrington Square, Colombo, is suffering from leukaemia and receiving treatment at Maharagama Cancer Hospital under the care of Dr. Damayanthi Peiris of the children’s Unit of the hospital.

A bone morrow treatment at Women’s Catholic Hospital, Vellore in India has been recommended to care for this disease and this child’s younger sister Malalage Minuki Pankajanee Peiris (2 years 6 months) is also to be accompanied to India for this purpose.

The total expenditure is estimated to be approximately Rs. 6 million and the parents find it difficult to meet this amount. They make an appeal to public to contribute to account No. 8472103-M.D. Pankaja Peiris, Bank of Ceylon, Torrington Branch, Colombo.
