UNP Councillors take oaths

Fourteen Councillors elected for the Eastern Provincial Council from the United National Party took oaths before Governor Mohan Wijewickrama at 9.00 a.m. yesterday. They are from Batticaloa (four Councillors), Ampara (five) and Trincomalee (five).

Eastern Provincial Governor's Media Secretary Wasantha Elapatha said the oaths were administered yesterday without fanfare since the irregular oath taking prior to this by the Councillors before the Opposition Leader.
