Japan donates Orthopaedic equipment to Kalutara Hospital
Tendai Sho Buddhist Association of Kawasaki, Japan donated
Orthopaedic equipment valued at Rupees three million to the Kalutara
General Hospital on Monday. This specialised equipment will be used for
fracture fixation, deformity correction etc.
This donation will help the masses of the area immensely in the
treatment of difficult and complicated Orthopaedic ailments. The
Japanese Buddhist Association handed over the equipment and said that
they were willing to assist the hospital to improve its special medical
units.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bandujeewa Piyasena, Consultant
Orthopaedic Surgeon of the hospital said the hospital needs a separate
Orthopaedic Ward and possibly a dedicated Theatre.
