Allen Rock is a bankrupt Canadian politician belonging to the Old
Boys Club in the Liberal Party of Canada (Reference DN Nov. 23).
He had a rocky political ride with the previous Liberal Government in
Canada after making false accusations to former Canadian Prime Minister
Brian Mulrony on corruptions and later withdrawing with an apology which
led the Liberal Government to pay more than $ 250,000 in compensation to
the former Prime Minister.
Therefore, do not believe this man for a moment.
The UN is also another corrupted organisation well-known the world
over for recruiting bankrupt and corrupt runaway politicians like Allen
Rock, Chandrika Kumaratunga etc.

It is a scandal how Norwegian funds are used to buy arms and
explosives to blow up innocent civilians. Journalists in Norway seem to
ignore the testimony from Karuna of the use of Norwegian funds to fund
arms for terrorism.
The Norwegian journalist seems more interested in writing about
sport, soap stars and the consequenses of a falling oil price.
The fact that our oil money has been used to kill hundreds of
innocent people in Sri Lanka does not seem to interest the Norwegian
journalists.
Murder funded by Norwegian funds? The only story about Sri Lanka
today was th newspaper VG. They had a story related to the LTTE leader's
speech. Solheim was asked to comment on the war rhetoric of Prabakaran
but refused to answer.
Officially Norway only supports the LTTE with approximately one
million US dollars per year, but all along we have been certain that
there have been used secret funds. Karuna's information is valuable,
since it once again proves the use of secret funds.
The Norwegian tax payers' money was used to buy a six foot television
screen for the terrorist leader!
The gift proves the close relationship between the LTTE leader and
Erik Solheim.
In 2007, NAT will launch an investigation in the official documents
for the Norwegian Foreign aid to Sri Lanka.
We will ask for a Commission to look into the allegations of the use
of secret funds. Needless to say our request will be turned down, so
international pressure has to be implemented.
It would not surprise us if there have been other recipients of
secret funds than the LTTE. We have earlier found the Norwegian MFA
meetings with Ranil Wickremesinghe in Oslo and New Dehli suspicious.
We have no evidence of any wrong doings at this time, but the entire
peace facilitation dealing with the Ranil Wickremesinghe stinks.
The electronic equipment given to the LTTE is one of the reasons we
think LTTE is not the only recipient of Norwegian funds.
In our point of view, Norway must be held accountable for the MFA
actions in Sri Lanka. By Erik Solheim's dubious dealings he has damaged
Norway's image and supported international terrorism with Norwegian
funds.
In Norway, this case will be cover up and they will put a lid on all
information related to the Sri Lanka facilitation project.
Initially they will use the excuse "it could disturb the peace
process", later they will use the "national security excuse" to avoid
providing the public with information. Anyway we will try to get hold of
more information and expose it in a book. We think the entire peace
facilitation is "a can of worms".
The dealings with the LTTE do not only involve money, but travel
documents and passports. More than 130,000 Norwegian passports are
missing according to Interpol.
We know about the LTTE links to the Norwegian police and the arrest
of the LTTE cadre who was buying Norwegian passports from police officer
Nyhusmoen.
Thai police did break the case about the Norwegian police
co-operation with the LTTE, when they arrested an LTTE cadre in Bangkok
with 900 passports.
The LTTE is using the passports as a commodity for their fundraising
efforts. We know there have been links between LTTE and Algerians linked
to Al-Qaeda subsidiaries in the passport case.
This should be an eye opener for the USA, Great Britain and
Australia.
All countries should demand all Norwegians to get Visas since the
Norwegian passports can no longer be trusted.
There is no doubt in my mind it is only a matter of time before
severe terrorist action is committed where the terrorists have Norwegian
passports.
We have complained about the links between the LTTE and the Norwegian
police to two Norwegian Justice Ministers. No reaction.
Are we surprised? No, we are not. Former Justice Minister Odd Einar
Dorum participated in an LTTE fundraiser, so he is obviously not
interested in cracking down on his LTTE friends.
It is frightening to see how the LTTE has been able to dupe most of
the political establishments in Norway to be their friends and allow the
LTTE to commit crimes against the Tamil diaspora.
In Norway the LTTE is a 'holy cow' due to the peace process. We have
seen them move from terrorist status in 1992 to untouchable 'statesmen'
in 2000, with licence to threat and extort without any consequences.
NAT hopes our campaigns in 2007 will bring the LTTE back to their
terrorist status and oust the politicians supporting the LTTE out of
Norwegian politics.

Come the latter half of each year, there is a great clamour for
admission to schools. Every parent wants to admit his child to a 'good'
or a 'big' school. Every parent of a five-year old has to go through
this hassle, irrespective of profession or social states.
It was reported in the media of a plan to set up a special school for
admitting children of Security Forces personnel.
It is indeed laudable that our society recognizes the onerous task
performed by these dedicated men and women who put their very lives at
risk, defending the sovereignty of our beloved country.
It is because of their bravery that we, the civil society, are able
to breathe an air of freedom, and get about our day to day activities
with the least inconvenience.
No sane person would object to granting a special privilege to a
member of the Security Forces, even admitting a child to a school,
preferably of his choice.
But what is the necessity to create a special school, exclusively for
the children of the Armed Forces? Would this not create new problems
among the student community of the country, in addition to being a major
security concern?
Today we are talking of an integrated society. This integration
should extend not only to all religious and ethnic groups, but also to
all of the professions and all other conceivable social strata. Then
only will we realise our desire of a well balanced, healthy and
harmonious society.
The new school coming up in Malay Street could indeed be a blessing
as it could ease to some extent, the rush for school admissions.
If the intended intake is, say 100 students, from the families of the
security forces, then the more feasible thing would be the allocation of
this number of places, for those children in the already existing
schools, and to accommodate a similar number who would get displaced
from those schools, due to this exercise, in the new Malay Street
School.
This fulfills the intention and at the same time ensures a socially
well integrated student population who will understand and learn to
tolerate and to respect each other's cultures and values, a much desired
situation, particularly in today's context.

Thank you Education Minister for that idea of holding the exams in
India.
Yes, we have to look after our Sri Lankan children wherever they are.
Education is the most important gift we can give our children.

The occupants of a house at Keells Housing Scheme, Pothuarawa Road,
Malabe on moving to a house at Millennium City Athurugiriya recently
have left behind their grown up pet dog to fend for itself.
The new owners of the house who are abroad are not going to occupy it
for the next several months, and the dog continues to be outside the
locked up gate without any shelter.
Some neighbours give some food whilst others harass this dog. The dog
abandoned by this family is confused and naturally traumatized and tends
to be aggressive at times.
It is understood that the owner of the dog and those who harass it
are trying to get it put down through the local Pradeshiya Sabha
authorities. Isn't there some law to punish heartless people who dump
their pets? If not, it is time that necessary action is taken by the law
making and law enforcing authorities to address same.
When pet owners contact the authorities (certain veterinary surgeons
and government institutions) to have their pet's euthanised when they
are no longer wanted, there should be a law for such authorities to take
action against such heartless and irresponsible pet owners rather than
to have the poor animal killed.
Further those whose religions belief forbid having canine pets,
should not in the first place own such pets.
