DHL powers racing driver Dinesh Jayawardana
DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, signed up a
one-year sponsorship with Sri Lanka's star racing driver Dinesh
Jayawardana.

The partnership between DHL and Jayawardana, Sri Lanka's fastest
driver among the standard car categories, complements each other, with
both parties sharing the same values: "Speed and Reliability."
Henceforth, Jayawardana will be engaged in the promotional and
advertising campaign for DHL during the year under agreement.
The sponsorship agreement was handed over to Jayawardana by Country
Manager DHL Express in Sri Lanka, Chaminda Hewamallika, in the presence
of a large gathering of special invitees and sports media personnel at
the Waters' Edge in Jayawardhanapura.
Hewamallika said, "DHL is indeed privileged to be associated with a
racing car driver of the image and profile of Jayawardana. I am
confident this sponsorship will be beneficial to both parties. With this
sponsorship, DHL Sri Lanka further strengthens the company's overall
commitment to fostering sporting talent around the world."
Commenting on the sponsorship by DHL, Jayawardana said, "I am
particularly happy and proud to embark on this new association with an
international brand like DHL. Speed binds us together and this will
certainly be a thrillingly formidable partnership."
31-year-old Dinesh Jayawardana is a dynamic and exceptionally
talented racing driver who is set to be Sri Lanka's next Formula Ford
Champion. Introduced to the world of motor sports at the age of nine by
his father Mana Jayawardana, 'DJ', as he is better known, has excelled
in motor sports ever since.
In addition to stock car racing in the Honda V-tech, Jayawardana is
also one of the main championship contenders in the Formula Ford 1600cc
series. Royal College educated Jayawardana is currently a director at
Auto Force (Pvt) Ltd.
DHL continues its association with the world's sports arena being
this year's logistics partner for Formula 1 around the world. Coinciding
with the first race of the Formula 1 season in Australia, early last
month, DHL has further expanded its service for the world's most popular
sport. It will now set up a mobile logistics centre at all nineteen
international race tracks, in addition to providing a 24h express
service.
The services provided by DHL at the logistics centre at the
racetracks, extends beyond the dispatching of items, with on-site teams
and service providers being able to use completely different DHL
services from a single source - from packing express parcels, to
insurance and customs clearance, to dispatch.
