SES at Ruhunu Aruna 2004 Senior Experten Service (SES) participated in the recently concluded trade exhibition and marketing convention 'Ruhunu Aruna 2004'. 'Ruhunu Aruna', the brainchild of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse was organised by the Ruhunu Chamber of Agriculture, Commerce and Industry, supported by the Federation of Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (FCCSL) and the Prime Minister's office, the organisers said. The SES stall attracted over 500 visitors including the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Power and Energy Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment Athauda Seneviratne, Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Aviation, Ports and Media and Prof. Ranjith Senarathne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna. The SES seminar was attened by 56 southern entrepreneurs and created awareness among the southern business community on Senior Experten Service available to SMEs The Senior Experten Service (SES) has been helping people for over 20 years, supported by a host of experts who have retired from active careers. Most of the assignments are abroad, but there is mounting interest in hiring senior Experts in Germany, too. Having gathered a wealth of technical know-how and expertise in the course of their professional lives, these people are in an ideal position to give support to small and medium sized enterprises, public institutes and international organisations. The help provided by the senior experts is fast and practically oriented. At the end of 2004 exhibition more than 6,100 Senior Experts were registered in the SES database. They cover 50 sectors of industry ranging from electronics, machine engineering, agriculture, marketing, administration and healthcare to bakery, butchery and carpentry. Since the foundation of the SES in 1983, they have completed nearly 13,000 assignments in 150 countries, the organisers said. SES experts have helped Sri Lankan companies during the last six months by sending 11 Senior Experts. |
