Govt's aim to uplift living standard of people

The Government's aim is to uplift the living standards of the people by ushering in peace and prosperity to the country, Walapane UNP chief organiser and Chairman of the State Timber Corporation Mrs. Renuka Herath said.

The policies followed by the Government have helped all communities in the country to live in peace and harmony. Mrs. Herath was speaking at a ceremony to distribute roofing sheets to 100 lower income group families held at the Walapane Pradeshiya Sabha hall recently.

She said, the Government was making every effort to make the future of the people prosperous.

The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe wants to free the people from communal, racial, and religious differences and enjoy a happy life. She said, it was the duty of the people to shun all differences and extended their fullest co-operation to the UNF Government to complete the massive development projects for the benefit of the country.

Central Province Councillor Wimal Ranaweera and several others spoke.
