Premier trophy cricket : Little Kalu in fine touch

Romesh Kaluwitharana hammered a superb 93 with eleven fours and shared a third wicket stand of 117 runs with Sajith Fernando (52) as Colts CC amassed a massive first innings total of 414 runs on the opening day of their Premier Super League cricket tournament match against BRC at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 414 (S. Fernando 52, R. Kaluwitharana 93, S. Kalawitigoda 79, M. Pushpakumara 72, D. Liyanage 28, E. Upashantha 45, Suranjith Silva 5 for 134, Sajeewa de Silva 2 for 83)

BRC: 8 for no loss.

Tamil Union 293/9 v Bloomfield

Three good half centuries from Upul Chandana (61), Indika de Saram (52) and Malintha Gajanayake (54) helped Tamil Union reach 293 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier Super League cricket tournament match against Bloomfield which began at the Sara Stadium yesterday.

SSC bundled out for 116

Chamikara Mudalige captured 4 for 19 as SSC were bundled out for 116 in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier Super League cricket tournament match against CCC played at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Police shot out for 85

Muditha Maduwantha and Ajith Ekanayake shared eight wickets between them as Kurunegala YCC dismissed Police SC for just 85 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier Plate championship match played at Welagedera yesterday.
