Flying squad nabs power pirates

Four persons who had pirated electricity by manipulating the electricity meters were arrested by the CEB flying squad officers during raids conducted in Puttalam on July 8.

They were produced before Puttalam District Judge and Magistrate Bharati R. Wijeratne and fired Rs. 10,000 each and ordered to pay Rs. 710,149 to the CEB as compensation for the loss of revenue caused to the Board.
