Man nabbed for extortion

A man who allegedly attempted to extort Rs. 500,000 from a tourist hotel owner in Unawatuna, Galle was arrested by Galle Police.

The Police on a complaint lodged by a hotel operator regarding death threats to him by an unknown person over the phone forcing him to pay Rs.500,000 launched investigations.

The Police after verifying the suspect's telephone numbers arrested him at Diyavannava in Unawatuna, Galle.

Galle Police are investigating.
