Turkish Airlines to operate daily flights from November
Turkish Airlines will operate daily flights to Colombo from November.
The airline's Colombo bound frequency is four and these are all via the
Maldives.
The airline will also look at the possibility operating Direct
flights (Colombo Turkey) from early next year, Turkish Airlines General
Manager for Sri Lanka, Ozgur Suucak said. Sri Lanka being the 219th
destination in the Turkish Airlines network.
Suucak said that Sri Lanka is now becoming a much sought after
destination and the 'passenger loads' too are increasing. In addition
the country is also targeting 2.5 million arrivals by 2016 and we
tremendous potential to expand.
"This was the reason we decided to increase frequency," he added.
Turkish Airlines is a Star Alliance member.
The airline has partnerships with all airlines in the Star Alliance
network. Through this network the customers can get any type of ticket
according to their preferred schedule.
He however said that they have don't have immediate plans to operate
to the new airport in Mattala. "We may look at it next year."he said.
Turkish Airlines, recently won prestigious awards including 'Best
Airline in Europe,' 'Best Airline in Southern Europe' and 'Best Business
