SLECIC to paint re-settler houses
As one of its key corporate social responsibility drives, the Sri
Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation (SLECIC) has undertaken to
paint 82 newly built houses
out of 500 such houses constructed by the Ministry of Resettlement
for the benefit of resettled families in the Welioya Divisional
Secretariat area. In addition to the Ministry of Resettlement, Ministry
of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities and
Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources Management are also involved
in this development project which is being implemented for the benefit
of newly resettled families.
The Ministry of Resettlement has allocated Rs. 160 million for this
project, states a Ministry of Resettlement press release.
The release adds: "The construction of 500 houses in Kalyanapura - I,
Kalyanapura - III, Ehetugaswewa, Hemambawewa, Gajabapura and Monarawewa
villages was completed. SLECIC has allocated Rs. 600,000 to meet all
expenses relating to painting of 82 new houses built in the Gajabapura
village.
SLECIC Chairman D. P. Mendis, PC handed over a token stock of paint
to Resettlement Secretary Ministry Janaka Sugathadasa at a ceremony held
at the Resettlement Ministry recently".
