sites

All mosquito breeding sites in state institutions and public places
should be cleaned to ensure the safety of staff at these places, Health
Minister Maithripala Sirisena said.
He said it is useless keeping homes clean, if there are mosquito
breeding sites in state institutions and public places.
Minister Sirisena expressed these views after inspecting the
Udahamulla Bus Depot which has discarded material and waste. Minister
Sirisena said unwanted and discarded material and waste can be removed
with the assistance of state or private institutions which have
facilities and equipment for such tasks.
Meanwhile, a Health Ministry spokesman said the National Mosquito
Control Week will be held until July 7. The National Mosquito Control
Week began on July 1. It is compulsory for state ministries in
Presidential Task Force on dengue control to take part in this National
Mosquito Control Week . All state institution buildings and surroundings
have to be kept clean to ensure there are no mosquito breeding sites
inside the buildings and surroundings.
After completing the National Dengue Control Week, all ministries
should declare their own Mosquito Control Week to clean all state
institutions such as departments, corporations and authorities under
their purview, the spokesman said. |
