Pelicans melt Solid 2-1

Anuradapura Solid FC tasted the first defeat in the Dialog Champions League at the hands of Pelicans FC, Kurunegala when the Pelicans beat them by two goals to one in front of over 5000 home supporters in Maligapitiya grounds. Both teams struggled to open their accounts and the score was 0-0 at lemons. The Morockon coach Yassine of Pelicans applied attacking football to pressurize the Solid defense and broke it twice to make it 2-0 lead. The Solid had a consolation goal to make it 2-1 at the dying hours of the game.

Colombo came behind to beat Matara 4-1

Matara City team which is handicapped with out the African goalkeeper who had been suspended, had an early lead but could not sustain it due to heavy attack in second half by the Colombo FC to lose four goals to one at City League on Friday. New entrants to Dialog champions League, Colombo FC enjoying good wins and if they continue to play in this fashion sure to reach great hights.

New Youngs tame Up Country Lions 2-1

Up Country Lions lost their rhythm in the game when the young out fit New Youngs from Wennapuwa beat them by two goals to nil. New Youngs led 1-0 at the lemons.

Java Lane win over Negombo Youth 2-0

Negombo Youth lost the first opportunity to have an early lead when they missed the penalty awarded to them and in the end lost the game to Java Lane by two goals to nil.

Army down Police 3-1

Army registered a sound win against Police 3-1 at the police Park.

Renown beats Don Bosco 2-1

Don Bosco, the former Dialog Champs did not live up to expectations so far this year and conceded another victory to Renown, also a former champions out fit. Renown led 1-0 at the half time.

Navy win against Ratnams 2-0

Navy will maintain their table leadership with the solid win against Ratnams at CR & FC grounds.

This is the third consecutive lost for defending champions Ratnams in this season.

Air Force beat Blue Stars 1-0

A good move in the last minutes of the game saw Airmen beating much fancied home team Blue Stars from Kalutara by one goal to nil at Vernon Fernando Stadium.
