IAA seminar with Todd Sampson concludes
The International Advertising Association (IAA), Sri Lanka hosted a
unique seminar by Todd Sampson, National CEO, Leo Burnett Australia
titled 'Creativity Fear'. The event held recently at the Galadari Hotel,
Colombo saw the participation from both the marketing and advertising
fraternity in an insightful evening on how to overcome one's fear to
achieve success.
The IAA, a global strategic partnership of communications
professionals which includes individuals from the marketing, advertising
and media fraternities remains dedicated to sharing knowledge in the
communications industry by hosting both local and international speakers
to share insight on how to develop the local industry. The seminar was
part of the IAA's ongoing initiative to elevate and educate the
industry.
Commenting on the seminar, IAA, President, Laila Gunesekere stated:
'' On behalf of the IAA, I would like to thank Todd for this
enlightening presentation which kept us all engaged and gave us an
interesting perspective on the importance of taking a risk with
creativity. ''
The presentation by Todd Sampson celebrated the power of creativity
in solving any problem be it social, political, economic or
environmental. The presentation worked on the premise that 'creativity
has the power to change the world but fear has the power to stop that
from happening and the most successful leaders and organisations of the
future will be the ones that can successfully balance both'. Speaking of
the presentation Neelika Tillekeratne, Public Affairs and Communications
(PAC) Manager, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Limited, stated, ''As a
client it was a compelling presentation that gave us an understanding of
creativity and the importance of being able to take that leap when faced
with five minutes of fear to do something different.''
Further, Aman Ashraff, Chief Creative Officer, Ashraff Associates
added, "He humanised the industry. As an individual sharing the same
fears and insecurities as we all did, he made us realise that we too
could amaze ourselves, if we had the courage of our convictions and
acted on them.' |
