Access Engineering commences Bangadeniya - Anamaduwa road development project

Access Engineering PLC, the leading value engineering and infrastructure development solutions provider in Sri Lanka, successfully held a ground-breaking ceremony to inaugurate the rehabilitation and improvement project of the Bangadeniya Andigama Anamaduwa Road (Route B45) recently.

Present at the event was the Deputy Minister for Ports & Highways Nirmala Kothalawala and Minister for Civil Aviation, Priyankara Jayarathna together with officials from RDA, Access Engineering and various other distinguished invitees, dignitaries and well-wishers.

Access Engineering entered into an agreement with the Road Development Authority (RDA) to revamp the 38 kilometer road, a project that is being implemented under the Mahinda Chinthana vision of rebuilding the future that is being financed from the Bank of Ceylon through the Government of Sri Lanka and facilitated through Access Engineering PLC.

"The project commenced operations recently and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months. The road will be widened to an average width of 10m while the carriageway will be widened up to 8 meters and be provided with asphalt surfacing," said Athula Kumara, Project Manager of Access Engineering.

The development of the Bangadeniya Andigama Anamaduwa road by Access Engineering will offer residents and commuters in these areas a better transportation solution for goods, services and everyday travel as well as more investment opportunities for business ventures and the overall progression of towns and villages for future generations to come.

Furthermore, at the completion of the project, commuters will be presented with a shorter auxiliary link between Colombo and Anuradhapura.
