Education not only knowledge - Grero
Education is not only knowledge, Lyceum International Schools founder
Mohan Lal Grero said.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the 20th anniversary celebrations of
Lyceum International School, Nugegoda on June 14, he said education has
to have social skills, to respect each other and "to have fun but nice
fun".
Coordinating Principal Kumari Grero, Principal Wenuri Hettiarachchi,
Deputy Principal Bandula Galappaththi and Head Mistress Dulka Mendis
were the Guests of Honour.
"Money is necessary but it is not the only important thing in one's
life. We expect from you to build character. Without proper character
your education, money and personality is not valuable. We have to
realise the value of education, qualities and humbleness," Grero said.
"Do your best to your Alma Mater. Do your best to your Motherland.
Some people who go abroad criticise our country. If you do not have
gratitude to the motherland what good is your education. Have a big
dream, but start small, be grateful and humble," he said. |
