Nalaka honoured

Remember this ruggerite Nalaka Weerakkody who turned up for Kandy Sports Club, CR and FC and Sri Lanka with distinction and retired from the game around five years ago. He has now taken to soccer and plays in the top division.

He has represented Hylines Sports Club and Kandy York Sports Club in the Premier League. Recently he played for Kandy York Sports Club which became runners up in the Kandy Association Football League’s inter club ‘A’ Division soccer tournament.

He received a medal from the Senior Vice President of Kandy Association FL and member Kandy Municipal Council Sarath Wijesinghe. Nalaka Weerakkody said that he wants to continue playing soccer though he is nearing his 40th birthday.
