Forum Theatre performance

The Sudana Rodrigo Sahana Foundation of Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts will hold a Forum Theatre performance by Abhina Academy of Performing Arts at Janakala Kendraya, Battaramulla tomorrow at 5.00pm.

The performance and event will take place under the patronage of Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena with other senior public service personnel from the Social Service Department, Probation and Child Care Services Department and the National Child Protection Authority in attendance. Mental Therapy practitioners as well as academics in the fields of psychology and medical psychiatry in Sri Lanka will also attend.

Consultant psychiatrist at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Dr. Kapila Ranasinghe, has supported and provided guidance to Abhina Academy on their performances from a psychiatric, psychological and research perspective.

The Sahana Foundation and Abhina Academy wholly support the establishment and sustenance of networks with patients and families of long-term mental illness. Both organizations in their own fundamental ways create conduits to clients and families in the communities that they are present in.Tomorrow's inaugural performance will follow future performances in Matara, Weligama, Beruwala and Dehiwalaas well as at NIMH, Colombo.

The venues for the shows performances will include community centers and temples.
