Indecent behaviour costs woman dear

A woman, 45, who allegedly behaved indecently in a public place under the influence of liquor was fined Rs 2,500 by Teldeniya District Court Judge Rohan Jayawardhana. Uda Dumbara Police prosecuted.

Five month old Methnadee Uthkarsha of Athula Nivasa, Bulathgama, Balangoda, is suffering from an acute liver disease and is warded at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Colombo.

Consultant Pediatric Surgeon Dr Ananda Lamahewage has recommended an urgent liver transplant surgery to save her life.

The surgery in India will cost several million of rupees.

Her father W A D N Nishantha says he cannot bear the cost due to his financial plight and requests the public to assist him.

Motorcycle crashes onto lamp post

A motorcyclist died on admission to the Kinniya Hospital and the pillion rider sustained severe injuries when the motorcycle they were riding crashed onto a concrete post near the Kinniya Bridge on the Trincomalee-Kinniya Main Road.

Lyceum 30th anniversary

Lyceum International School's 20th anniversary celebration will be held under the theme 'Inspiring dream - indomitable reality' today at 7.30 am at Lyceum International School, 3/1, Raymond Road, Nugegoda. Exhibition

An exhibition on construction industry and international seminar will commence today at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Centre, BMICH, Colombo. The exhibition and conference is organised by Ceylon Institute of Builders. Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa will be the Chief Guest. The exhibition will be held until June 16.
