MoU to set up University College in Batticaloa

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the establishment of Malik
Abdulla University College in the Batticaloa district, was signed
yesterday in Kattankudi, between the Youth Affairs and Skills
Development Ministry and the sponsor of the college, Sheik Yahyan Abdul
Azeez Al-Rashid of Saudi Arabia.
The proposed university college will be established as part of
Mahinda Chintanaya at a cost of Rs 1,500 million. Under Mahinda
Chintanaya, 25 university colleges will be established and five will be
private colleges.
Yahyan came forward to fund the university college following a
request by Deputy Minister MLAM Hisbullah
The college will be inaugurated on August 25 by President Mahinda
Rajapaksa. |
