President to unveil Mihintale (Sela) Cetiya

(Sela) Cetiya on June 23.He will later make an offering of 2,320
Atapirikara to the Maha Sangha under the patronage of Mihintale Raja
Maha Viharadhipathi Ven. Walawahengunawewe Dhammaratana Nayake Thera.

Daily News artist Leslie Jayathilake's mother, Hettiarachchige Don
Mary Thilakaratne of Kiriberiya, Panadura died yesterday. She is the
wife of late T A Jayathilake.
The remains are lying at her residence No. 428, Araliya Place,
Galpoththa Road Kiriberiya, Panadura.
Funeral takes place tomorrow at the Minuwanpitiya Cemetery, Walana,
Panadura.
Cortege leaves residence at 3.30 pm.
Double tragedy for Eardley David family
The Managing Director of a garment factory at Ekala, Ja Ela whose Rs
7 million was robbed last week, died of a heart attack yesterday.
He was taking money from the bank to be used for his daughter's
wedding when a gang of robbers obstructed his car and fled away with the
money.
He decided to hold the wedding as scheduled today. Eardley David of
Negombo suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the Negombo General
Hospital where he died.
Eardley was worried over the loss of the money meant for his
daughter's wedding.
Blood donation
A blood donation programme organised by the Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Youth
Forum will be held tomorrow from 9 am to 3 pm at Fazl Mosque, 28, Jumma
Masjid Mawatha, Periyamulla, Negombo.
Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at National President A H Nasir Ahmad
will inaugurate the programme.
Blood donation
Dematagoda Masjid Federation will hold a blood donation campaign
today from 8 am to 3 pm at Minan Jumma Mosque, N M M Ishak Mawatha,
Dematagoda, Colombo. Religious dignitaries will grace the event.
