Matale hit by dengue

One hundred and seventy five dengue cases were reported in the Matale district during the last five months, District Health Service Director's Office sources said. Meanwhile, investigations are being carried out in risk prone ares in the district by health authorities together with awareness programmes at village level, officials said.

It was revealed that refrigerator bottoms too were found to be ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

The public have been advised to adhere to the guidelines of the health officials to control the epidemic.
