H’tota Port Bunkering facilities from July
Bunkering facilities of the Ruhunu Magampura
Mahinda Rajapaksa Port(RMMRP) will commence from next month bringing
the much needed additional revenue to the Port. Chairman Sri Lanka
Ports Authority Dr Priyath Wickrama said that they would also offer
off shore bunkering services as well.

Richard Pieris Group unveiled its latest
venture, Richard Pieris Arpico Finance Limited (RPAF), recently at
an event in Colombo. RPAF has received the regulatory approval from
the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) to commence operations as a
finance company.

Mobitel launches 4G-LTE network
The National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka
Telecom Mobitel announced that its 4G-LTE service went live in the
cities of Colombo, Hambantota, Matara, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy and
Jaffna with effect from today. The trial of Mobitel’s 4G-LTE network
in May 2011 exhibited downlink speeds exceeding 96Mbps, which was
also incidentally the first time in the South Asian Region.
