Two youths nabbed with US made scanner

Special Task Force (STF) officials yesterday arrested two youths transporting a US made scanner banned in Sri Lanka.

The US made scanner has the ability to observe an area in depth of over 100 feet. It is said that artefacts buried in the earth can be traced by this machine.

The STF made the arrest in Pettah on Thursday night.

The two suspects in police custody are residents of Kantalai and Kadawata.

They confessed to the police that a friend living in the United States sent them the scanner.

A laptop, pen drive and two mobile phones were found in the suspects’ possession.
