This is the best time in expanding the awareness of the maritime
profession as Sri Lanka is looking forward to thriving maritime
opportunities, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage said.
Delivering the welcome address at The Nautical Institute’s AGM and
International Seminar at the BMICH, Colombo, he said the President
wishes to develop and drive the island as the “Wonder of Asia” and make
it a hub for maritime activities.
Vice Admiral Colombage said a professional association like The
Nautical Institute composes a vital and strong entity in achieving the
island’s aspirations and ambitions.
“As such, we in the profession of nautical affairs, look forward for
further strengths in these associations as they offer a whole new future
for our future generations,” he said.
