A musical show named, Rathna Sri Ulpatha Pamula, will be held at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on June 2 at 6pm to felicitate Rathna Sri Wijesinghe who is celebrating his 60th birthday and 40th anniversary of his career.

It will be a live show where many eminent singers will sing songs written by Wijesinghe. Rathna Sri Ulpatha Pamula book edited by Pamitha R. Liyanage will be launched at the show. It is about Wijesinghe's career, his life story, articles written by different intellectuals and songs and notes. A web site on Wijesinghe will also be launched on the same day. Another music DVD, Miyurusara which received awards internationally, produced by Jathika Rupawahini consisting songs written by Wijesinghe and another CD consisting his popular songs will also be launched on the day. Wijesinghe is one of the best lyricists in the country who had been writing for many years. He has written a large number of songs, poems, children's books and columns.

Many of his great works were awarded many times. His songs have been turning points for many singers who are popular today.

Rathna Sri Ulpatha Pamula will be graced by singers W. D. Amaradeva, Nanda Malani, Sunil Edirisinghe, Victor Rathnayake and many more. The dancing performances will be undertaken by Sri Lanka Youth Dancing Crew and Belwood Dancing Crew.
