New Zealand's Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully will visit Sri
Lanka on Tuesday on a two day official visit on the invitation of
External Affairs Minister Prof.G.L.Peiris.
While in Sri Lanka, McCully will meet the ministers of External
Affairs and Economic Development among others, an External Affairs
Ministry official said.
According to New Zealand media, McCully referring to his visit has
said that it is a good opportunity to discuss Sri Lanka's hosting of the
Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and exploring avenues to
further strengthen bi-lateral ties.
McCully has also said, he intends to discuss economic prospects,
especially New Zealand's thriving dairy trade and related exports.
He is also slated to visit India following his trip to Sri Lanka.
