Cambridge International holds conference for principals in Sri Lanka
Cambridge International Examinations organized a conference in
Colombo for principals and deputy principals in Sri Lanka. The
conference aimed to support school leaders prepare their learners with
the skills they need to be successful in higher education, the world of
work and in the modern international world.

More than 70 international, private and national schools from
islandwide participated in the event.
All attending schools offer Cambridge programmes and qualifications.
Some of the schools included Lyceum International schools, British
School, Ladies College, Royal Institute, Ilma International Girls
school, OKI International schools, Wycherley International School, St
Nicholas Colombo, St Nicholas Negombo and Gateway College. Cambridge
International Examinations, one of the world’s top universities and
trusted for excellence in education. Cambridge programmes and
qualifications are recognized in over 160 countries and are recognized
by universities, education providers and employers across the world.
Schools in Sri Lanka offer a range of Cambridge programmes and
qualifications including Cambridge Primary, Cambridge O/Levels,
Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS and A/Level. Entries grew
by 18% in 2012-13.
John Morris, Senior Education Advisor for Cambridge International
Examinations, former Headmaster at Auckland Grammar School and Principal
of Takapuna Grammar School in New Zealand, led the conference. Speaking
at the end of the event he said: “Cambridge qualifications have a proven
reputation for being an excellent preparation for university, employment
and life beyond.
“We support our schools in Sri Lanka and around the world to develop
students who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and
engaged. We are delighted that our community of schools in Sri Lanka
continues to grow.
