Techno celebrates 15th anniversary
How parents feed, educate, raise and protect their children is
something worthwhile for us to understand in managing an organization
from its inception to growth. Like children trust their parents, members
of an organization trust the top management. The reciprocal faith is an
essential ingredient in the journey towards success be it a family or an
enterprise said Dinu Dehigama addressing the staff of Epic Lanka.

A versatile speaker and the past Chairperson of COYLE Ladies Chapter,
she also emphasized the commitment and sacrifices parents make in
bringing up their children, which is similar to the demands of an
organization from its core management team. Creating a conducive
environment to enable learning to happen is important at home and it is
the case for an organization too especially in knowledge based
industries she said. Like children follow their parents, employees
follow their managers… and therefore, it is quite important that
managers set examples through continuous learning and exemplary behavior
in managing an organization she added.
“I see lots of similarities between parenting and managing an
organization as both involve taking a family through various stages,
carefully and affectionately, in the growth process where competence and
commitment of the heads or leaders make a big difference at the end.
This helps families as well as organizations to be outstanding among the
ordinary” she concluded.
Dinu Dehigama made these comments at a function held at Epic
Techno-Village to mark the 15th anniversary of Epic Lanka recently. Epic
Lanka, the award winning software firm regionally renowned for
innovative solutions celebrates the success of 15 years of innovations
during this month. |
