Insiyaah Shakir Lukmanjee is a 9 year old student of British School
Colombo and as it goes, is the very definition of an all rounder. It all
began at Asian International School, where she was a past student, she
started winning titles at their annual sportsmeet. Her parents then
realized that she indeed carried the qualities of a future sports woman,
Insiyaah was a force to be reckoned with as she kept winning place upon
place in all the athletic, swimming, Karate events she took part in.
This included winning the under 8 swimming championship by Colombo
swimming club, after which her love for swimming blossomed and she went
on to win the under 10 Girls Freestyle Relay with her team mates at the
National Age Group Relay Championships 2013.
Insiyaah in 2012 proved that she can be more than a swimmer and an
athlete when she won the silver medal in Ballet Dancing award by the
Royal Dance Academy of London.
Through all this little Insiyaah did not forget the most important
duty assigned to her, which is her academics and was awarded a special
endeavour prize for excellence in academics by British School Colombo.
Thus an athlete, swimmer, karate champ, ballet dancer and academic
Insiyaah Shakir Lukmanjee can be summed up in one word, an all rounder. |
