Teens injured in attack by ex-PS member

Four teenage school boys were injured, two of them seriously, following an alleged assault by a former Pradeshiya Sabha member near the Mangakeliya railway station on May 28. M. S. C. M. Nithisha, 16, and W Malsha Nalin, 17, of Mukkuthoduwa who were seriously injured are warded at the Puttalam Hospital.

The other two injured received outdoor treatment at the hospital.

The four injured students in their complaint to the Police said one of them had struck a friendship with the former councillor’s daughter and the angered councillor arrived in his vehicle while they were chatting near the railway station and assaulted them after a heated argument using a wheel brush.
