A group of seven treasure hunters were nabbed by wildlife officers
attached to the Wilpattu National Park while digging for a treasure at
Komparippu inside the park.
The spot is believed to be an ancient cemetery which remained the
remains of a Sinhala King.
A pickaxe, a sledge hammer, an axe, two torches and digging equipment
were also seized from the suspects' possession.
Four other escaped on seeing the officers approaching. |
