Land Rover felicitates Authorized Resellers

SML Frontier Automotive, the exclusive distributor and after sales service provider for Land Rover in Sri Lanka, hosted their Authorised Resellers recently. Present on the occasion were SML Frontier Automotive's Chairman Sumal Perera and MD, Sheran Fernando, along with staff members and Automobile Industry personalities.

The event which was held at the Cinnamon Grand, had on display the Range Rover Evoque, which has proved to be one of the fastest selling Land Rover models to date. MD SML Frontier Automotive, Sheran Fernando, thanked the Resellers present for their support of the Land Rover brand and expressed his hopes for their continued enthusiasm to market Land Rovers.

He went on to say that the Range Rover Evoque could be bought ex stock from the authorized Re sellers.

"After sales service is considered the corner stone of strengthening the Land Rover/Range Rover brand in Sri Lanka and the construction of a new state of the art workshop which will be the epicenter for Land Rover's after sales service, will commence by the 3rd Quarter of 2013", said Fernando.

Fernando also stressed the fact that all Land Rovers sold by SML Frontier Automotive, via their Authorised Resellers will carry the full 3 year warranty. "Together we are in a position to serve our customers better."


Suzuki & Suzuki Maruti Service Testing Camps in Monaragala conclude effectively

Associated Motorways Limited (AMW), sole distributors of Suzuki & Suzuki Maruti successfully conducted a service testing campaign in Monaragala on the 27th and 28th April 2013 under the title "We are here for you", together with Upali Motors Monaragala. Mr. Sarath Pushpakumara, CEO of Upali Motors was among the distinguished guests attending the event.

Motorists from across the country were present at the campaign; a majority from Badulla, Ampara and Monaragala districts.

The success of the event was determined by their highly positive feedback after receiving exceptional services.

Internationally trained Suzuki/Maruti specialists conducted the service testing campaign, utilizing OBD Diagnostic tools designed especially for Suzuki & Suzuki Maruti vehicles. Motorists were guided through the process of routine maintenance, the advantage of using genuine parts, and the benefits of brand new vehicles. AMW carried out sales promotions and special offers as part of this campaign.

Motorist received discounts, free vehicle evaluations and the option to trade-in during the campaign.

The special exchange concept titled 'Vahanayata Vahanayak' was an addition to their showroom feature displaying the latest vehicles for Suzuki and Suzuki Maruti.

Mercedes-Benz, DIMO organizers 'Star Drive'

The Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka together with Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) organized a fun rally for the Mercedes-Benz Club members on May 5, 2013. The rally started off at 8.00am from the Canowin Arcade at the Southern Expressway with the participation of many passionate Mercedes-Benz Club members and headed towards the South.

The rally was further complemented with a tour of the Galle Fort guided by leading historian Juliet Coombe and ended at 'Mirissa Hills' with a delicious late lunch followed by awards for winners.

The winner of the 'Star Drive' was the Father and Son duo, Mahesh Mallawarachchi and Milindu Mallawarachchi.

They were the only ones to name all traditional Sri Lankan sweets correctly whilst the 2nd place went to Dharshana Ratnayaka and his nephew Amrith Ratnayaka. The 3rd place was won by two Brothers, Mr. Primal and Prashan Wijenayake.

Sunil de Costa, President of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka said, "the main objective of organising such fun rallies for the membership was to build strong bonds between members, discuss and share common ideas and to showcase the proud heritage of Mercedes-Benz automobiles in Sri Lanka".

The Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka was established 23 years ago with the main objective of increasing the motoring interest among Mercedes-Benz owners and to strengthen the brand promise.

Many events including the 'Mercedes-Benz Pageant', which brings over 500 'Stars' to one location are organised by the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka. Cars from pre-war era to the most modern models take part in this glamorous event, which is held annually. It is an event eagerly awaited by all Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts.
