Sangamitta House swimming champs of Mahamaya

Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy has a unique record in Swimming in Sri Lanka. They have become Sri Lanka Schools Champs for more than One and a half decade. Mahamaya Girls from Age 7 upto over 15 age group had their Inter-House Swimming Championship recently at the School Swimming Pool. From Age 7 to Age 13 events winners were selected according to the timing basis and from age 13 to over 15 age group on competitive basis.

The Chief Guest was Dr S Jinadasa, Senior Lecturer, Engineering Faculty, University of Peradeniya. The Principal of Mahamaya, Indra Withanachchi, invited Chintha Ruwanpathirana, the former teacher in charge of swimming for over 15 years in the School, to be the Guest of Honour at this event.

Sangamitta House emerged champions with 334 points followed by Prajapathi with 264 points. Maya was third with 190 points with Yasodara House fourth with 171 points.
