Hasna - an athlete and swimmer par excellence



Hasna Mirasha Deen

Hasna Mirasha Deen, a Grade 9 girl student of Agamethi Balika MV, Panadura has emerged the best in setting a record shattering victory at the Junior National Athletics Championships Competition, held at the Diyagama Stadium recently.

Hasna Mirasha Deen established a marvellous meet record in Javelin throw (U 16) 27.60 m which was the exceeding distance, according to her age category, her Principal Mrs P P D Fernando told ‘Daily News’ recently.

Hasna Mirasha who speaks English with a smile said, that she is continuously assisted by her loving father who is a bank employee at Colombo and the Sports teacher Mrs Susantha Gunasekara.

Hasna has excelled in swimming as well she has been Victorious in all three swimming events under 15, held at the Kalutara District Swimming Competition recently.

Hasna Mirasha was Victorious in ‘Chest Stroke’, ‘Free Stroke’ and ‘Butterfly Stroke’, held by the Panadura Aquatic Sports Club recently.

Agamethi Balika MV Principal Mrs P D D Fernando, held a special meeting in the school auditorium recently (22) to honour and felicitated Little ‘Hasna Mirasha Deen’ who brought credit and glory to Mother Agamethi BMV, recently.
